White Sands New Mexico Engagement Photos

I’ve always wanted to visit White Sands National Park and when the opportunity presented itself to shoot Tyler and Sydney’s engagement photos I jumped at it! It was quite an adventure! My mom and I landed at ABQ airport and spent the afternoon and the next morning exploring beautiful New Mexico. I was immediately charmed by Albuquerque’s mountain and desert-scapes and turquoise accents. We were surprised to learn White Sands was a little further than I’d remembered seeing when I mapped the distance from ABQ. It was a 3.5-hour drive (one way!) But I believe everything is what you make of it, so we turned on a podcast and some tunes and headed to White Sands National Park.

When we arrived, we met at the Visitor Center, there’s plenty of cell service there. Tip for photogs and clients wanting to take photos here: make sure your car is gassed up before getting off the main highway. There are no gas stations for at least 30+ miles. When we arrived, we threw off our shoes, the sand was cool on the toes and so soft. Brady and Nellie, Sydney and Tyler’s pups, joined too! Such a fun trip that ended with prayer propelling one of our cars to the nearest (not so near) gas station (we made it, thank the Lord!) and a late-night Raising Cane’s stop through to power the long drive home.
