Couple Anniversary Session in Brooklyn, New York

Who doesn't enjoy looking back on and remembering some treasured times in our lives? I think we can all say 'yes' and one of the many reasons I keep doing what I do.  Sometimes photographs are the only way we do remember certain things.  There's been so many times I'll look at a photo and it takes me right back to the emotions felt so strongly during that time in my life.
Madelyn and Michael decided to spend one of their Sunday afternoons with me to capture where they're at, physically (Brooklyn, NY) and together (as a couple) for their 2 year wedding anniversary.  I was overjoyed when they asked me to photograph their wedding two years ago, and even more so to reconnect with them on one of my many adventures.  When I put it out on my Instagram that I'd be in New York City the last week of November, Madelyn reached out saying she wanted to jump on the opportunity of doing a little in-home session while I was out there.  We began warm and cozy indoors.  Throwing off my shoes, I have to say this was one of the comfiest I've ever been on a photo shoot.  Then threw on some layers to walk through Prospect Park to catch the sun going down.
What's sweet is that no matter what's written next in Madelyn and Michael's story, they will always remember their first place together as husband and wife.  Yes, in their memories but now they have some fun photos they can print too.  The red couch, their cats, the coffee smell lingering throughout, the many guests who passed through and helped make such meaningful memories, it all deserves being snapped to cherish years later.  The room with the little red couch will live on in Madelyn and Michael's family.
Thank you guys for letting me step into your world and create one more lasting memory in your first little Brooklyn apartment.
